Is a chain lock better than a D-lock?
Each has advantages. A D-lock has a rigid body that’s harder to leverage, but a chain is more flexible and can secure both wheels and the frame simultaneously. For maximum security, many cyclists use both. This chain provides serious protection on its own for most urban environments.
Can it be cut with bolt cutters?
The hardened manganese steel links are resistant to standard bolt cutters. Heavy-duty power tools can defeat any chain given enough time, but this lock is significantly harder to bypass than the cable and cheap chain locks that thieves typically target.
Will it scratch my bike frame?
No. The protective fabric sleeve over the chain prevents metal-on-metal contact with your frame. You can wrap it around your bike without risk of scratching the paintwork.
How long is the chain?
Check the product listing for the exact length of this model. Generally long enough to pass through both wheels and around a fixed post, which is the most secure way to lock a bike.
Will it seize up in wet weather?
The lock cylinder is sealed against moisture and the chain links are corrosion-treated. For long-term use in very wet climates, apply a small amount of lock lubricant to the cylinder annually to keep it functioning smoothly.

Delivery time and costs
We currently deliver within Australia. Standard shipping is free and the estimated transit time after dispatch is 8–14 business days. Processing time and transit time are separate. Delivery estimates are not guarantees and may be affected by carrier delays, severe weather, public holidays or other circumstances outside our control.
We do not currently offer international shipping. Customs duties and import charges therefore do not normally apply to orders delivered within Australia.
Tracking
When your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number. Tracking information may take up to 24 hours to become active.
Incorrect delivery address
Please check your delivery details before completing your order. If you notice an error, email info.lubeko@gmail.com as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed after an order has been processed or dispatched. Additional carrier charges caused by an incorrect address may be passed on to the customer where appropriate.
Delayed or missing parcels
If tracking has not updated for several business days or your parcel is overdue, contact us with your order number. We will review the tracking information and, where necessary, open an investigation with the carrier. Please also check that the delivery address is correct and ask household members or neighbours whether they accepted the parcel.
